What To Expect In Using An Inversion Table
Using an inversion table is something that is an exciting experience. It is your first step in becoming a healthier person through the effects of inverting your body. Amidst all the excitement, keep in mind that there are several rules to adhere to so that you remain safe throughout operation.
The first mistake that many first-timers make is to note buckle your leg strap down good. You should exert a large amount of force on the strapping mechanism to ensure that you won’t simply fall out of the machine while being under the incline. Sadly enough, some even forget to strap themselves in due to their excitement and are in for a rude awakening that can possibly injure them.
Inversion tables aren’t meant for extreme usage- so take things slow, especially for your first time. If you go too fast you will experience much dizziness and anxiety. At first tilt the inversion table slightly, and slowly go further if you feel like you can handle the extra pressure. If things start to feel too intense, you can always slowly relieve your pressure.
When coming back up from an inclined angle, take your time. Some automatically think that you should be able to stand back up and get off the machine. This isn’t true, and could cause you to fall down from disorientation. Instead you should continually decrease the angle of incline over several minutes to slowly redirect the flow of blood back to the way it was before your incline.
When you first go under the incline, you are probably thinking to yourself that you could handle a long time period of time spent under the incline. Even if you feel this way, try to limit the time you have under incline to several minutes your first time. Too much time spent under incline on your first time could cause several things such as headaches once you return to your normal position. As you use the inversion table more you can increase this time period.
Several other small things that are also important in your first time advice is to tuck in your shirt, first, since it would fall down under extreme incline. Next, empty the contents of your pockets, take off any jewelry, and anything else that could fall or injure you while on the machine. While it is humorous to see one’s change fall out of their pockets, things such as phones could break.
Final Thoughts
There are many retailers available to choose from should you decide that you would like to keep an inversion table in your home life. There are also gyms that stock them for health savvy consumers who appreciate relaxation.
Good introduction to inversion tables! I would put my two cents in and say that I prefer the Invertrac unit… it hangs you upside down by your hips, and not your ankles, like most inversion tables. The hip is far more able to handle those inversion loads… the ankle’s great when you are right side up!
I like inversion, I think everything in moderation is the key
I came this || close to buying an inversion table for my pregnant wife recently. I wanted her to hang upside down to get the breech baby to turn around. However, I couldn’t find one in town, and I didn’t want to wait for delivery. Costco use to keep one in stock.
I’ll check out the author’s website.
I’ve recently tried an Inversion Table for the 1st time, and I had 2 people standing by reassuring me they ‘had my back’ so that I wouldnt go down too fast. We had the safety strap on so I tilted only half way. But when straightening back up, I didnt realise I was on my own and went too fast. Felt fine as I got off, and for the rest of the day, but upon waking up the next morning, I have constant dizziness, especially when I tilt my head. Half way through the day, the feeling still persists…
Is this a normal 1st time side effect? or should I see a doctor?
